How permissions work

Discord role permissions decide who can do what - you, the server owner, hold the dial.

Which Discord permission unlocks which action

Every action is unlocked by a Discord permission. A role that can Ban Members can ban through the bot; a role that can Manage Messages can purge. Select a server above to see and change its mapping.

Bot moderators - the staff organisation

Bot moderators are global staff. Every tier gets automatic access to moderation actions in every server the bot shares with them - no per-server setup, and the server's permission mapping above does not restrict them. The tiers below differ in internal authority, not in basic command access.

Owner-only - never delegable

These are settings, not moderation. No Discord permission and no rank - not even Founder-appointed staff - can be granted them. Only the server owner changes them in their own server. That wall is built into the bot.

Configuration

Blacklist

Adding a user records a case and bans them - even if they aren't in the server. Removing unbans them.

Warnings

Warning history per user. Clearing removes all of a user's warnings.

Settings

The same options as /setup, for this server.

Staff roles

These roles (plus admins) can use the moderation commands.

Protection & features
XP / leveling

Tune how fast members earn XP. Min/Max is the XP granted per message; cooldown is the gap before a member can earn again.

Embed

Compose an embed and post it to a channel.

Modmail

Direct messages users sent to the bot. Reply and it is delivered back to them as a DM.

Tickets

Open ticket channels. Reply here and it posts into the ticket as the bot.

Appeals

Review appeals from users. Approving an appeal lifts the matching action; a case appeal overturns that case and keeps it in history. Replies are back-to-back, so you can answer without waiting.

Bot emoji set

Paste any emoji or a custom one such as <:name:id>. Leave blank for none.

Install links - Add to My Apps

Before the user link works, open the Discord developer portal, go to your app, then Installation, and tick User Install under Installation Contexts. Without that the link errors out.

Email - send from the bot's Gmail, owner only

Gmail will not accept your normal password over SMTP. Turn on 2-Step Verification, then generate a 16 character App Password at myaccount.google.com/apppasswords and paste it below. Everything is queued and retried in the background, never sent inline.

Emergency Bot Transfer - hands the bot to someone else

This adds the target to the bot owner list and promotes them to BM Founder. It is a two-step action: arm it, then confirm with the generated code. The Discord application itself cannot be moved from here; that is done in the Discord developer portal.

Bot profile

Change how the bot looks. Heads up: Discord limits bot username changes to roughly 2 per hour, and the avatar URL must point directly to an image Discord can fetch. Leave a field blank to keep it unchanged.

Bot emojis

Your bot's application emojis. Type :name: in the announcement, say, notice, DM, or embed boxes and it's sent as the emoji. Uploaded new ones in the Developer Portal? Hit Refresh. (Note: Discord does not render custom emojis in the bot's activity status text - those only show in messages.)

Tier system - creator only, per server

A competitive rank ladder. With ELO on, each member has a rating and the bot puts them in the matching tier automatically - change it with /elo-add, /elo-remove, /elo-set, or step a full tier with /promote / /demote. Promotions show a green embed with your upvote emoji, demotions a red one with your downvote emoji. List tiers lowest first. Each rank up is a fixed +150 ELO (row 1 = 150, row 2 = 300, and so on) - the same for every gamemode and not editable. Every gamemode tracks its own separate ELO. When you save, the bot auto-creates roles for tiers with no ID, renames roles whose tier name changed, and deletes the role of any tier you remove.

Starting a new season archives the current standings, then resets ELO and win/loss for the selected gamemode and removes everyone's tier roles. The first time, it just begins tracking without resetting.

Global announcement

Send one message to the configured notice channel of every server the bot is in. Intended for operational notices (e.g. maintenance). Servers with no notice channel are skipped. Use sparingly - mass messaging is easy to abuse and can get the bot reported.

Pending approvals

Every /dm, /say, /notice, and /embed request waits here until you approve it. Approving sends it; denying discards it. Nothing is sent without your approval.

Server setup

Build the server selected in the top bar. Higher tiers include everything below them plus more roles, ranks, and channels (each with a locked Staff area). Nothing is deleted; existing items are reused.

Setup access

Grant a user permission to run a setup tier with the slash commands. A higher tier includes every lower tier. You always have every tier.

Stored data (all servers)
Conversations

Every DM thread the bot has. Open one to read it, delete individual messages the bot sent, or wipe everything the bot sent to that user.

Select a conversation to view it.
Commands (global on/off)

Turn a command off and the bot refuses it everywhere until you turn it back on.

Content flags

Messages matching your watchlist. Severe matches are listed first. Use this to spot servers you should pull the bot out of.

Ban prevention - action audit & DM records

Every DM, broadcast, and mass action the bot performs and who triggered it. Suspicious bursts (one person DMing many people fast) are flagged, and outbound DMs are rate-limited so the bot can't be used for spam.

Flag watchlist

Words or phrases to flag. Use Severe for content that creates real liability - slurs, threats, doxxing, illegal content. This is for dangerous content, not for tracking individuals.
